Suspect Confesses Guilt in JonBenet Ramsey Death

Wow I never thought we would see this day!

BANGKOK, Thailand — A former schoolteacher has admitted to killing 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey and will face charges of murder, kidnapping and child sexual assault in Colorado, officials said Thursday.

John Mark Karr, 41, admitted to the killing after he was arrested at his downtown Bangkok apartment Wednesday night, Lt. Gen. Suwat Tumrongsiskul told The Associated Press.

I feel bad because I had all but convicted the parents in my mind. I guess the media is more powerful than I thought. The court of public opinion, thankfully, didn't see these two put away.

There's some doubt about this.. one alibi put forth suggests he was in jail at the time of the murder.. other kin say he was simply obsessed with the notion of child murderers and is simply acting out a fantasy of some sort. Either way, it'll all come out in the wash.

Hopefully there will someday be some real closure on the case.

I suspect there will be plenty of DNA evidence to prove one way or another if they have their man.

I saw on today's news that he's been released from prison.

The DNA evidence proved that it was not him.

So the question remains, why would an innocent man confess to such a horrible crime that he did not commit? Was it just to get attention?

Very odd...

I suspect he was in trouble with the Thai government and used this "confession" to get a free ride back to the states, knowing he would be found not guilty anyway.

He looks the type in any case, not to mention he actually has offences relating to child-pornography still to go over, he will go to jail, just not for what he wants. It's sick on many levels!
