I noticed a very unusual spike in views for my domain AlpsLove.com on Afternic over the last few days.
Normally the domain gets almost no traffic, but suddenly it jumped to nearly 1,000 views in a single day, with several consecutive high-traffic days afterward. Total reached around 3,500+ visits in 30 days.
What’s interesting:
No corresponding increase in leads/inquiries
I didn’t run ads or promotions
The spike appeared very suddenly
Traffic then partially dropped but stayed elevated
Screenshot attached.
I’m trying to understand what could cause this kind of behavior. Possible explanations I thought about:
Bot traffic or scraper activity
Registrar search exposure
Someone monitoring or repeatedly checking the domain
Temporary keyword trend
AI/domain scanning systems
Has anyone experienced similar spikes on Afternic or GoDaddy landers?
Do these spikes sometimes lead to sales, or are they usually meaningless traffic?
