hello all,

i am just wondering how exactly subdomains work,

i own www.statehotels.us

i take it i can own " florida.statehotels.us. newyork,etc...

if someone could point me in the right direction of any good information on how to go about this it would be much appreciated.

thanks for looking.

i am really after legal info on this matter as if i were to sell/rent newyork.statehotels.us i would still own this domain. if i am wrong please correct me .

thanks.

For your purpose I suggest you use the cpanel option of creating subdomains. The option I use for my redirect service requires a script and modification of DNS zone via WHM.

subdomains are not valued at all. Its not worth the trouble trying to get somene to rent a subdomain unless you have a very established site with a lot of targetted traffic in that subject area.

That is correct. You will still own the domain. You can set up subdomains to where each one would simply be a separate folder or you can set them up where they function just like a regular domain where the only difference is the name.
