Is anyone here a DSL connection specialist? My stupid DSL is going slow (1kbs). I called Verizon support (they gave me the run around because I tried it on 3 different operating systems/machines so they put me through support on each different OS). The Mac tech support guy had me do a speed test which I knew wouldn't work because my connection is so slow. It took forever to get back a result so he basically passed me on to their feild techs and told me to wait 2 days. 2 days with a 1kb connection?! This is worse than dial-up! Anyone have any suggestions?

Do you have a router ? Have you tried ping, perhaps you have a very high rate of packet losses. Or it could be a cabling problem. Also did you restart your router/DSL modem ? Sometimes the hardware may need to be reset.
I assume your different machines are connected on the same LAN. Are you able to ping between them (just to check if you might some local connectivity problem too) ?
Just some ideas.
