Someone asked me if I thought the value of streaming related names would go up in value? Their thought was with everyone at home more and more new companies would look to provide a streaming service. Amazon owns the best streaming related .com, streaming.com, it points to PrimeVideo.com. I don't know you got You Tube, Instagram live, Facebook live, Twitch, Periscope, do we need more? Maybe … [Read more...]

Streaming brand doesn’t necessarily have “stream” or “streaming” included, way not smart and too long to type

.tv is much fitter. Short and making a sense

Streaming has been on the rise for a while now, I have to admit apple tv is absolute garbage to date, I got a free sub because I bought a bunch of new devices. New content rollout quicker might be a good idea, seems like at this point I feel I have watched every decent movie on netflix.

I sold streaming services in king for 5 figures last year.

I am somewhat a personal luddite in this regard, don't have a Netflix or any other subscription.

I think there might be some increased market for related names, although not convinced it will be substantial. I think a few big players will continue to dominate and they have their names.

I think that there is a market for names suited to specialty online video content, which is probably what you have in mind as well.

Clearly a boost in online education resources, content related to that.

Conferencing services like Zoom will and are already have a fantastic year. But again, a few big operations will dominate I think. Was impressed how well Zoom worked for 57 participants on the latest domain social hour.

it is like New Year predictions. We will see.

I have StreamEnvy in dot com.

It's the only way I watch media nowadays.

I would never choose a name containing 'stream' for a streaming service, it's just too hard to type. Try it, type 'stream' quickly a dozen times and count how many typos you made. Of course the typo domains can be secured as well, but why tax the users in the first place?

It’s great opportunity to
have .tv domains thrive

How about:

FreeTVLive.com ... it says exactly what people are looking for.

I have it if you want it.

I own VRVideo dot com, if VR fulfills its potential could be quite big.

VR.s*x
VR.p*rn
(non .com's)

Have already sold for $100,000 each and adult entertainment is only one use of VR Video.

Checking namebio I tend to disagree.

Streambet in dot com sold recently for $15000?

I don't see a streaming service at this domain, am I missing something?

Your comment suggests stream is difficult to type so people wouldn't be interested in using domains with the word stream.

I disagree, that is all :)

I have some really solid stream domains...I started regging them in 2006...very few offers...sold only one...and an early competitor to youtube that raised millions made an offer for my best stream domain in 2009...we couldn't agree on price, then the company was running on fumes and got acquihired by hulu, if i recall

we'll see if stream domains start getting offers....but maybe this area will be all about brands...i believe google purchased streams.com, and amazon streaming.com in nda brokered deals within last few years

14 years is a long time to hold on, you have to be very careful as the main brand is usually a short brandable, and a streaming name is usually acquired as a compliment.

I have seen a lot of people hold on to tight, and totally miss a trend, but if you haven’t got the offers either , that might be data saying the interest is not as diverse as you thought.

you have some good points...but my biggest problem is i have very few names listed for sale, and 90% of my sales come via brokers the buyers hired

my day-time/night-time job is building apps and ai software...i need to list all my over 2000 names on the platforms...i am selling lots of casino/bet (well, not a lot - only 14 this yr) domains and i let their broker and mine negotiate, which sometimes takes weeks, months...thnx
