Strange Math Stats... Please interpret

Okay... last week on one of my sites I had a day with only 154 Uniques but over 20,000 page hits. Then later in the week, I had 184 uniques with only 3531 page hits. More Uniques with LESS hits. ????

How does THAT happen and what does that mean?

Is there some strange "math" that a person can use to get a baseline or interpret these WIDE ranging figures?

I'm still trying to get a grasp on certain aspects of what this all means.

Pleaes help.
