I want to hear other member vision regarding Station.TV. I plan to use this domain as station.tv/yourname or station.tv/yourcompany type of TV station business directory.

I plan to use clip-share, or entertainment script to start.

What do you think?

Difficult........Station, and I own stationzero.tv, is more associated with radio then tv.

It still works because people refer to say "news station" for things like that, but on the other hand refer to "weather channel" for generic items.

That being said, our local ABC affiliate refers to themselves as "The Local Sports Station" while the nbc calls themselves something like "Your Sports Channel".

It could go either way, and will entirely depend on how strong your site is. Channel has a slight advantage IMHO, but if you market yours well, say to the public which demand media is failing to do, then you could get the jump on them and be a much stronger force to be reconned with.

If it was mine I would utilise the strength of the keyword and set up a whole host of sub domains ..

music.station.tv
news.station.tv
weather.station.tv

etc, etc etc,



That's a .tv to build a business on ... you can create any " station" and own the space as the definitive resource...

Develop a jog dial type app toolbar widget to tune into your station, programme / queue your station for viewing.

You could Create a myspace / ME.TV etc platform .. the possibilities are endless for this .. that surely is a name to develop or hold

PM siradio about his TopMediaScript. He was great in getting me set up with HalloweenChannel.TV.

I don't know enough about it, regarding disk space/bandwidth/etc, but I think separate Sub-Domains like Scoob mentioned would look more professional; Service.Station.TV, Manufacturing.Station.TV, Retail.Station.TV

If that all works out I'm sure siradio could link the videos all into the same db, but with the unlimited domain license be able to install different looks/styles on each sub-domain. All cohesive design, but creating a niche look per "directory"

Wow, you have some great names Em.... I love that.. I was thinking the tv extension needed that months ago and was checking my heart out for a hand reg.To my way of thinking it has to be like a "yellow pages of stations" - a directory! Thats exactly what you do with that one... nothing more to say.. brilliant... I have many stations to add as soon as they are ready.

I prefer the subdomains myself. I am doing that for techniques.tv because I just don't feel personally that it looks right with the slash: station.tv/Comedy versus comedy.station.tv just looks better to me.

Thanks for your input folks. I end up gathering all the suggestions and use it. We are currently working on directory listing for .TV and might sell the subdomain e.g. music.station.tv, video.station.tv, radio.station.tv, etc. for a minimal yearly fees to all party with development in mind. This will help .TV to reach end users.

I will give more update once it is ready.

One of the better $250 names around. You must have grabbed this one up ASAP! Cause I saw it posted then you owned it... Congrats to both of you. I like the name, but it reminds me of Bill & Ted's excellent advnture. The little troll looking dude that could fix anything was named Station! Rock on! All jokes aside its a good name, one to hold on to, I hope you get maximum value out of it.

If you "lease" the sub-domain, then you become a true e-realestate.

It may mean that you will not be able to sell the domain when you have "tenants" on the sub-domain. If you so decide to "lease" the sub-domain, cover yourself on your lease contract.

This really has to be one of my " favourite " names of all time that I have seen in the .tv ... I stand by my sub domain idea you WILL own the space .. it is a great .. great name .. I so wish it was mine

Thank you for the accolades, still testing some scripts at this time. I'm having a hard time dealing with programmers and timing issue. But will surely keep you posted.
