Ever needed to try anything in IE6 or even 5, even though you have IE7 installed? Or perhaps you need to try something out on an older version of firefox?
Using stand alone browsers (i.e. no installation) you can run as many versions as you want, on one computer at the same time. Just unzip, and run.

The only problems are the browsers identify themselves as the version you have installed. So using conditional comments that would only show in IE5 and trying them with the standalone version would result in them not working unless IE5 is the IE version you have installed.
Certainly not fit for main browsing, but great for cross platform testing etc.
