They both run on linux based servers with PHP and MySQL.

The email portion of spamcanned is a little different. It requires that, in addition to your linux php/mysql web server, you also have a Windows (xp, 2000, etc) machine (can be your normal windows machine at your home) that runs custom scripts to forward the mail to the proper location. This was done so that the site could be hosted on a "shared" platform and not slow down other site owners. It also requires that your hosting provider allows you to have a "catch all" email address that all email that is deliverd to undefined email addresses gets delivered to. This functionality is free for anyone using DreamHost and many other hosting providers. All of the needed scripts are included and I can provide assitance getting everything setup if needed.
