Spaceship.com recently launched a new Marketplace section, and as NamePros has given me the go-head, I think the company deserves its own thread for NP domain marketplace users to converse in.

https://www.spaceship.com/sellerhub/

Personally speaking, I will be setting up a new Spaceship.com account this weekend and going to work investigating its various features, options and policies.

Let's say I buy a new domain today on Godaddy. It is registered with them. I then list the name for sale on Spaceship. It sells a week later on SpaceShip. Can that name be transferred to the new owner before the 60-day lockup period? @Spaceship Thanks

You can wait for spaceship to answer if you don’t want to take my word for it but there’s really no way to remove a 60 day lock so if you sell it on spaceship after registering on Go Daddy in less than a 60 day. Your buyer will have to wait For a transfer. The only thing I’m not sure of is if you can use spaceship escrow and push to the buyers godaddy not sure how many buyers really want to wait 60 days.

Sure, that wouldn't be a problem.

In cases like this, where the domain is still within the 60-day transfer lock, we can make an internal push to our account with the current registrar and then transfer ownership to the new buyer from there.

Once the 60-day period is over, the new owner will be able to transfer the domain to any registrar they choose.

OK, thanks for that information. Not saying I would sell a domain that quickly, but nice to have that option if I do.

Well, we definitely wish you the fastest possible sales, and on the best possible terms too.
And preferably through SellerHub :)

And not to turn this into a promo post, but registration pricing should look nicer at Spaceship too :xf.wink:

Does that apply to LTOs, too? (we all know that the draconian Afternic just cancels the sale)

Yes, this can apply to LTOs too. We wouldn’t automatically cancel the sale because of the lock.

We review cases like this individually and try to find the smoothest possible way forward for both the seller and the buyer.
The usual flow would be to move the domain to our internal account with the current registrar and keep it there until the 60-day lock is lifted.

Once the lock is over, we can transfer it to our internal Spaceship account, so it can be managed the same way as other LTO sales.

I'll consider in the future on new names. I pick up several names on Godaddy's expired auctions, so they automatically register with them for a year out.

Is spaceship a good register in your opinion? If so, why?

Hi everyone,

We wanted to bring a quick update here with a couple of recent SellerHub changes.

First, we added Sources to the Leads and Sold tabs. It means it's now possible to see where each new lead or sold domain came from, including Domain Search, For Sale Pages, Checkout Links, Add to Cart Links, SafePay, and Seller Portfolio Page.

We hope this will give more context on how buyers are reaching you, which commission applies, and how different selling paths are performing.

We've also released Seller Portfolio. You can now create a public page for your domain portfolio and share it with buyers. They can browse your listed domains, sort, filter by TLD or price, add domains to cart, or make an offer.

You can set it up from the new Seller Portfolio option in SellerHub settings:
https://www.spaceship.com/application/sellerhub/settings/

This is the first version, and we'll keep iterating. Next, we'll work on the option to link to your Portfolio Page from your For Sale Pages.

And as always, if you have feedback, questions, or ideas for what you’d like to see next, we’re here and listening.

@Spaceship As I understand it, you currently do not collect VAT. Do you plan to support sellers that are VAT registered by charging VAT when applicable and either handle the VAT or pass it on to us?

Thanks for the question. We don't have an ETA at this point, but we understand the need for VAT support for sellers and have added your feedback.

You guys are on top of things. It's been on my wish list. I already have up.

Thanks so much.

Hey @Spaceship ... when listing EXTERNAL registered domains in the SellerHub, in order to prove ownership is it necesary to add the TXT record or is enough with pointing the DNS to launch1.spaceship.net & launch2.spaceship.net ???

NS is enough, unless it was prev listed with Spaceship, then you need TXT
