Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) announced the expansion of the PlayStation 2 line-up in Europe with the introduction of a new colour. The new, limited edition Pink PlayStation 2 will be available from selected retailers throughout Europe after the 8th of November 2006. It will come complete with two Pink Analog Controllers (DUALSHOCK 2) and a Pink Memory Card (8MB). With the success of the Xbox 360 Faceplate system, and the Nintendo Wii announced to be available in over five different colors, it's obvious Sony will have to start keeping up with the ever evolving "designer" aspect of console gaming.

Seems like another cheap trick by Sony to me. Why would they start marketing new PS2 models when the PS3 is "close" to release?
