We can all remember the old dot tv site layout and I'm sure at some point everyone as browsed the premium names list in detail like myself. Over the past couple of days I have been catching up on my domain business and also doing a bit of snooping around and I landed on the website "channelme.tv" I thought I would check out the domain search on their site and began firing random keywords into the box. Impressive because when my search results were returned I noticed you get 5 suggested domains as well as the specific domain search results. After a few hits and returns I did notice some of the suggested domains available for registration were "ex-premiums" previously listed at on the old dot tv site now available at standard reg fee so as you can imagine I have spent quite some time testing the database. From what I can see it looks like Demand media as already dropped quite I few premium reg fees which I can personally remember being listed at least $500. Although I have always thought some of those $500 names listed on the old dot tv site were low quality and over priced I have managed to acquire a few useful to me. I have always thought a prudent move from Verisign would be to drop the premium reg fees on a large number of those "poor quality" $500 domains sitting on dot tv site gathering dust and to be honest I would not be interested in having many of those premiums in my account for free. I will list some of the names I have seen available at standard reg fee which can be registered with the registrar of your choice. Some of the domains I've seen will be listed at the end of this post and maybe of some use to some of you on this forum or you might fancy going fishing with keywords on channelme.tv to see what comes up.

Well Thanks for the post REE NP being sent regged Choreographer.tv for my sister who is one. A lot of those names were pretty bad only Choreographer and maybe one or two did I think were worth reg fee just shows how crazy Verisign priced certain domains

Well guys you are very welcome and I'm pleased to have been able to help. This list of available names I have show on this thread are what I made when I had the idea to post what I was finding but more importantly I would also like to say since this post I have tested more words and noticed more on offer via the method of searching I have suggested. Remember, use even keywords in your search that you know will not be available just to get the 5 suggested alternative domains from Demand media. This method gives us a head start on learning what names have been dropped from the premium list before the rest of the world finds out in Q1 2007. Think of it as dropping a depth charge in to their database and wait and see what floats to the surface. I know it may seem a little uncoventional in how to search for domains but who cares as long as it works and puts you ahead in the game. I also suspect that Verisign might change the way channelme.tv/Demand Media reveals domains during searches once they find out so I doubt the opportunity will last forever. I'll just add that I do agree with you regarding Verisign and Dot tv corps pricing structure on some of those names they had listed for years has premiums but I do see some potential in some of the names I have caught while "fishing" and I have registered 5 new additions myself including one of the names I decided to take after posting it here the night before so it was a quick dash to the computer this morning when I realized

Just another little insight.... While I am logged in at NP and am also on channelme.tv and although we have been told premiums are off limits until Q1 2007 I am now being offered premiums through channelme (Demand Media) right this second as was the case when previously searching so I can show you an example now of what I am being offered at what pricing.

They wont show as available if you punch the name straight into the box and search, however, during normal searches those premiums are being offered in the list of 5 recommended domains with the add to cart option for the price the want so I do believe they will allow the sale if I proceed with purchase which I will attempt next time a premium appears to see if I can get it now. Yesterday I typed in the word "cash" and "money.tv" was offered at $3000 in the list but when I tried a second time with "cash" the option was not repeated with "money.tv" so I would say the premiums are popping up at random.

Well spotted, One of Mrs Jello's partners. Now I'm wondering if this could have been the case with pets.tv. Did they let it go when they should not have due to a screw up with the registry which knowing Dot tv as well as I do would not surprise me in the least. Any reg's I am making from seaching this way are straight to Moniker and immediately parked.

Tool.Tv came up as available for $1500 a year when aa related search was punched in - but did not come up as available directly.

I am currently making another list before I close down for the night but this time I'm checking them with Netsol to see if they can be grabbed now. Will be about half hour then I'll post them here. There system however is looking unsafe with some of those premiums on offer and I really do hope they are not double selling because they are going to be liable.

A few more but none that interest me tonight. Some maybe brandable at the very best in my opinion and I cannot say that they were all listed as premiums but someone may find a use for some of them. All the best and goodnight

Was doing this and up cam BUS and PUB as available @ $20! Added 'em to my cart and hit check out... After a long delay my cart came through with BUS, so I logged in and changed the years to 10, and checked out.
