I would be more worried about the cops finding out who you are and where you live.
For the cops can find that info easy enough, no matter how much you hid it.

I am not in the US and the site I have taken it down to cool things off. Just want to know if the domain registrar will take any action against my account if they found out?

If the police decide to believe "the other guy" and pursue it further, then yes
they will contact the registrar and/or who hosts it... and find out exactly who/where you are.

The internet is a window, not a door!

Thanks but that still doesn't answer my question, will they lock me out of my account ? I am worried because I have several successful domains with them and if they do lock me out of my account chances are I would lose those domains.

did you see the "then yes" that is the answer
At the request of the police, they can and if you have broken any TOS while all over the news, then - yes again.

put it this way, if they know the domain - and they have a "guy" in custody saying it ain;t him -
then you are as good as mopping floors for the next however many years for whatever the crime.

the whole account until resolved.
that is as easy as I can say it, you're done! O_o

You should not worry about account being "locked up". But you yourself getting Locked up.

Private WHOIS is not for committing crimes. I think as that guy is already arrested there is no way out for you now.

Taking off a website now doesn't helps it either as archive will have the records.

Finding where you live would also not be a problem for them. Only thing is that if you are out of their jurisdiction. If you are then also the thing doesn't stops there. They can still pursue it and get the record straight.

A personal note from me. No offense but as a programmer myself I hate warez sites :( It is someone's career that you guys are playing with.

Am a programmer and web dev myself. No worries about the archive as the content of site is private and you can't login to the site within the archives. The only thing they got against me is that the domain name is registered to me and nothing else. That is why I was only worried only about my account that is holding my other domains nothing else and that is why I thought to ask here. Thanks for the replies.
