Software to cut the workload?

Hey guys!

New here, and kinda new to the world of buying and selling domains. This is something I always wanted to try, and I want to do it the right way. I was wondering if there is any software out there that I should be using? Trying to ease the workload, due to other projects I am running. Even scrapers would help a lot. Since I am new to this, I don't know what to trust.

What I would like to know is:

1. How do the absolute professionals search for domains? (software or old fashion work)
2. Are there any other type of domain programs other than scrapers (one's that would allow to buy/snipe)
3. Besides this forum (and a few others), what would be a good source of knowledge for me (books/videos) to get started?
4. And since we're talking about forums, any other communities that I should be visiting? (if this isn't allowed here, pass on this question)

I am not a total newbie to these things, I have been buying and selling virtual assets for years, however, never tried domains, so I am itching to get started. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Namepros!

1. Some pros backorder expiring domains. Some hand register names. Some buy well priced aftermarket domains.

2. There are but i dont use them

3. Check out domaining.com

4. NamePros is the best free resource i know of for learning. Use the search feature alot.

Best of luck!

Appreciate the help. As far as #2 goes, I know you said you don't use them, but can you at least throw some names at me? :)

Thanks again.

probably both. You can use expireddomains.net to search domains.

Auction sniping doesn't work because a bid will usually extend the auction for another 5 minutes.
If you want to buy dropping/expiring domains, make a backorder with Namejet. Non-competitive names can be caught automatically with the Dynadot API.(requires a software or you can code a basic script yourself)

Namepros is enough.
