That is a very special extension. I know .software but have none.

If you are a software company you should register your name as a defensive strategy but imo app is the new way to refer to all types of software applications large and small. Not to mention .app is having large ticket sales reported (shop.app) and is easier to type and looks like a pretty extension. .

Just my 2 cents before you spend more money on .software
