Yup...that's 108" baby! It is even HD capable, but I don't think NP puts out 1080i
It's my projection TV. When I was looking for a new TV and was flush with moola from a home sale in LV, I looked at the plasmas. I just couldn't part with that much dough for a TV set. Plus, I learned, that they are only supposed to last about 10 years or less?
So I was looking at options. I stumbled on a home theater site and the rest is history. It was the absolute best decision I ever made about a TV set. I'm the envy of all the visitors to my house. I only dropped about $1700 total for the projector, surround sound, ceiling mount, AND tuner. Compare that with 42" plasmas at about the same price!
It's a slick application too. I was going to have a drop down, high gain screen come out of the ceiling so I built a soffet to house it. Then I got cheap again and just sanded my wall flat (no special paint either) and just project right on my wall. It gets a little washed out in the daytime, but I have thick drapes which block about 70& of the light. I ran the front 3 speakers of my 7.1 surround sound through the soffet so no loss there.
Anyway, the reason I'm gloating about this now is that I finally did what is most difficult to acheive with a plasma and that is I simply hooked up a spare computer to it like a monitor. I got a wireless connection, keyboard, and mouse. I got a nice little laptop table as a gift that I surf from. It's beautiful. The smileys are almost lifesize!
