So Excited! New Domain Tools Auction

I read the domain tools blog religiously and a new auction was mentioned in one of the posts - well. a little birdie told me there is going to be a domain tools auction at the end of this month - So start getting your lists ready!

I like no exclusivity contract and 10% commission ...
Hope some of my names make this one too!

Yeah, I remember that comment on the DT blog too. I was hoping it would come to pass, but looking at the calendar the schedule is getting tight for an end of month auction. You need to give people at least a week's notice to submit domains, and then a week or two to review the domains. Today is Nov. 7, leaving about 3 weeks until the end of month... Possible still, but if they delay another few days in announcing then there will be very little time for the all-important marketing of domains that are accepted for auction!

This *seriously* concerns me. Like I said, if you crunch the numbers that leaves essentially NO time for marketing. Some of the other major auction houses do at least make some attempt to contact/market to appropriate buyers. If I did submit to this auction, it would be with reserves that are much higher than a Moniker auction which gives time for reasonable marketing... and not lose sleep about being rejected for high reserves.

hint: A poorly marketed auction with no warning is an invitation to sell cheap when you set your reserves low.

I was looking forward to this auction. If it is at the end of the month, this might be a good one to skip due to lack of marketing by the auction committee and organizers...

They still have the round table advertised for next year... which is plenty of time to market. I may just wait until the DRT auction and avoid these last minute auctions.
