Will content on its own be any protection from this piece of fascist legislation?

I suppose it was a poor question? I ask because I feel we cannot draw too much attention to this and dont believe that the bill should be gettoed into this or that section eg legal/industry news.

If I have a generic domain name with content, no ads, will that be protection from this legislation?

Thanks Charlie. Rep for the link, which was interesting. I couldnt find an answer to my specific question (just reassurance that it will only affect US companies - Verisign is US based so thats all .coms then?):

Problem is that few people understand the Snowe bill (including Congressmen). I agree it should be getting more attention in this forum.

Since Verisign (the registry) is in the US then it could affect non-US companies.
I doubt content, including non-infringing content, would be much protection.

The only protection I can imagine is only owning domains less valuable than the cost of taking them. Lawsuits are often won because the defendant cannot afford the thousands of dollars required to fight.
