I would still say TM-problems. Especially if you use it for anything
remotely close to Snapnames kind of business.

Saw this as well but thought of the obvious legal problems there could be.

lets see... $20 backorder vs potential big sale in a few years... i think ill take the $20 backorder risk! and previously it was used by some org called "snapnames 4 us!" regged since 2001 i think! they had it for 6 years without a problem...

Reminds me of my academyaward. info :) Nice letter from their lawyers (did some research on their lawyer too- uumm he was the man!). Dropped it really quickly after the email.

good luck, Gary.

Your risk isn't just $20...you have to incorporate potential legal liabilities when making cost/benefit analyses. Negative net value imo.

I would contact snapnames and ask them if they would like it! Maybe they would give you a fair price??? But don't hold your breath you will probably end up having to give it to them. If you approach them before you do anything with it you will avoid a lot of possible problem's.

I'd say keep it, assuming you're risk adverse, and wait for the "letter", assuming one ever arrives...

When it does explain to them how silly it looks that they failed to get the "drop" themself; either their service isn't that good or it must not have been that important, since it was registered way back in 2001.

To make a long story short, you may make a nice decent profit on it if you have nerves of steel and play it right, along with having some luck.
