SnapNames - Difference between "Available soon" and "Backorder"

Is "available soon" just the equivalent of "backorder" for pending delete domains? Or is there any other difference?

I suppose available soon means there is a scheduled date, for example when the domain enters pending-delete stage, or in the case of prerelease domains, they know the date the partner registrar will make the domain name available to them.
Backorder = any other domain.
