SMF or ipb 1.2

i want to know what boards software do u advise me to have
do u advise me to have ipb 1.2 or smf 1.0.5
which is better ?

SMF hands down in my book.

IPB was a good little product but to pay for it when there is such a good quality product like SMF would make no sense at all.

basciy i have my boards on smf wanting to convert them to ipb but the prob is am not able to find converters and i dont want to use ipb 1.3 on IF i want it free and i can host it on my space and i want to put my ads on it not other . thats the problem

is there any mod for smf like quick moderation option in ipb the quick moderation is the option of the drop down list which will auto reply to a mesage once runned
its usually used to tell if the topic is solved or not

SMF all the way, it is still developed and supported so security issues will be addressed, IPB 1.3 i dont "think" is supported any longer

SMF because it has a community behind it now, it will be updated, and if some security risk comes along then odds are you'll be protected. I'm waiting for someone to figure out how to exploit IPB 1.2-1.3 here soon because they could cause a lot of headaches. I try to stay away from software (free or not) that isn't updated or at least I know there will be a patch if an exploit is found.

is there any mod like that in smf ?

anyways the Topic Multi-Moderation allows me to combine moderation actions to create easy to use shortcuts to several moderation options. like if i have a support board in 1 click i can lock the topic and add a prefix to the title and add a reply telling the one who asked the question that his topic is solved as that easy

I would go for SMF out of this 2..but yea if there was IPB 2.1 than i would definitely choose it...coz its most awesome product produced by IPB.
