Skin a phpbb forum?

How hard is it, ive just recently managed to get the forum up.

But im afraind i could mess it up if i try to skin it...

What version of phpbb are you runing on ? If you have phpbb 3 it`s pretty hard for a newbie to skin it , if you have phpbb 2 its simple because it`s more html then css .

The best idea, when you're new, is to download a currently made skin you like, or is similar to how you want your forum, then modify the images and CSS.

It's easier, because you're not lumbered with doing everything and it's great for learning how stuff is done.

Do what citricsquid mentioned first and then just start to expand. phpBB has several forums that are loaded with information on how to skin a forum with codes and tutorials. Take one step at a time and work your way up.
