Hi pros,

I have an arcade site. The following are the attributes of the developed
site and would like to know your opinion about the worth of the website.

Domain: Its a .com
PageRank: 5
Backlinks: into few thousands and almost all of them are natural or link exchanges.

Traffic: As per awstats:

Month Uniques

Dec 62K
Jan 66K
Feb 22K
(so far)

Revenue: 20USD on average per month

Script: Famous shockarcade script which is no more available. The best SEO'ed game script out there.

Forums: Comes with an IPB licence, forums are little inactive, but members still post and can be made active over night:)

Site was up before Dec 2005 also but name has been changed in dec, 2005

I am in no need to sell this site, but certainly would like to know what do you guys think.

Thanks,
Gamehouse

Sice you're asking to have a website appraised, not a domain name I'd say it's a multiple of your current revenue (choose your formula). Can't appraise a name without knowing what the name is.

Thanks for your apprasial. I am least interested in name appraisal. I am more interested to know the site appraisals with the given PR and given stats and then revenue. Multiple of current revenue is a known thing and does not apply to all sites.

Others, please comment.

$20 per month - hosting costs= Net per month X 12 = estimated value

So small it is not really worth much in my opinion.

Thanks for your appraisals.

Anybody else.

May be I should put little of my experience here:

1. This site has PR 5. I did not sell any links on this site. I have another PR 5 site and sold links and earned couple hundred there.

2. Look at the uniques per month, these days, very hard to achieve natural uniques ( I still did not get to do much advertising for this site yet, which I am going to start soon)

Now, if everyone looks at revenue-hosting X 12 months which could be 180$, lol, I could earn that money by just selling 5 links on this site and still have the site.

I appreciate your opinions, any more opinions.

Thanks in advance,

Gamehouse

well that would not change the dynamics - if you had paying advertisers it would increase the number - but I think the formula would still fit. r-h=n*12

Agree. I should look for now brand new sites with no revenue, should be able to get them near 0$, wow.

do you disagree? unless it is a hobby, isn't it about making money?

Sorry if my post sounded harsh. For sure its about making money. But not soley dependant upon existing revenue. There are other factors like PR and potential and traffic (gold).

I agree and disagree. I agree to that fact that as a potential buyer you may only want to look at the revenue and formulae.

I disagree because I have been involved in transactions of sites where in the average revenue is zero but the sites have traffic and/or PR and went for good chunk of money.

I guess it depends on the site and seller and buyer ultimately.

good point - if it has a good marketing name - revenue is irrelevant. And sometimes people pay irrational prices for emotional reasons, "got to have it syndrome"

Tough to ever get an appraised value on that - it is totally open to interpretation. And a good salesman always adds to the sell price :)
