Let's not exclude the fact that, the smarter AI becomes, the less it needs humans, as a result, humans will not need even websites, this SI or AGI will be even in your head, telling you what, who or where can something be bought, it already runs ads in my mind and ChatGPT, DeepSeek and others tell me my own words when I ask something, this is by no coincidence!
The domains will lose demand, it's not hard to observe that most at the moment are for sale, parked and non developed. Many domains I let drop, cause they even did not sell at 30$, 50$ or more. The threat is real, we better focus on quality and hold them in the long term, in the end even the long term may become short, cause AI will replace everything we do.
I personally did not curse fore a long time, maybe it is time to prevent this AI to develop further and send to such people as Sam some curses, believe me they work even tech and AI.

Definitely the post is a bit speculative, but whatever research of the coming hypes has to be like this. When looking what could be next after .ai hype, it makes perfect sense. I said could, not would, but something to be aware of. Could be .si or something else.

Why it makes sense for me, is because good .ai domains are kind of depleted, but ai niche will continue growing. New emerging startups hunting for investors money will have to be creative as they can not afford a premium .ai or .com domain, so they will look for alternatives.
