.SI = Slovenian domain extension

- Slovenia is an EU member and borders with Austria, Italy, Hungary and Croatia (for those who have problems with location)
- anybody can register Slovenian domains without limitations (except of course TM issues)
- domain prices are around 12-16 € with Slovenian registrars
- most known sale of Slovenian domain (dating already back) is sale of pep.si (on SEDO)

- in Slovenia, like in most parts of Europe, if domain contains hyphen - this is NOT treated as "bad domain"
- plural domains are more accepted as singular (still case to case - but generally people tend to use plural domains - like our domain fotoaparati.si - "cameras" vs. our domain fotoaparat.si - "camera", plural domain is much more expensive...)
- some domains are used in conjunction with extension .si - as this means "yes" in Italian or Spanish language
- central Slovenian registry you can find on register.si (Slovenian whois)
- they are currently registered about 121k domains, 1,54% of them are parked with sedoparking

OK, here we go again

a)
- just sold premium domain ("heat pumps" - but in Slovenian language)
- we managed to sell it in 10 days after we became owner

b)
our last premium domain acquisition is:

PRSTANI.SI (= rings)

- jewellery domain, one of the best in our country, very good also for landing page
- can be very well optimised (via subdomains) as: wedding rings, engagement rings, golden rings, diamond rings, Swarovski rings, etc.
- all in pure Slovenian , all emd searches and grammatically correct

General authority for Slovenian domains is registry.si.

Everybody can register domain names - they are no limitations.
If you want to sell .si extension - I cannot tell you how to do this, but certainly already exists registrars outside Slovenia, where you can register domain name, but they are in most cases (much) more expensive...

Yes and no - depends on names and how many companies or institutions can use them ... sometimes can be as domain hacks as well...
But certainly no demand like for dot com, net domains

It is obvious who did. But generally English names are not performing very well on the local level. I know what I am speaking, because my company sells about 50-80 .si domains each year. But they are always exceptions ...

Our last sold domains (a couple days ago) are AVTOMOBILI .SI (emd translation is "cars dot si") and DIOPTRIJA .SI ("dioptre dot si").

But I can join with some new names:
