Hey guys, looking for some appraisal advice on:

SHTFSurvivalGear.com

  • Why did you buy the name?
I was going to start a disaster preparedness/survival/camping gear shopping site but never did it.

  • What market did you feel the name would be ideal for?
Anyone looking to make a survival, camping, prepper, or maybe even sport and outdoor gear store. this stuff is H O T right now, with the whole Maya 2012 thing coming soon.

  • What research did you conduct prior to purchasing the domain?
I good deal, I already have a similar store built into a blog I run that does well but I decided to pick up this domain to make a separate store.

  • Did you already have a value in mind you thought the domain might sell for?
Not really. I think this could be a $x,xxx domain though.

  • Does the domain get any traffic? (Please provide screenshot proof)
Not sure, have not set up any stat programs.

  • Does the domain generate any revenue? (Please provide screenshot proof)
No, just an empty wordpress theme made for adding amazon products currently (wp zoner). I can leave or strip this off.

  • Is there anything else you can provide that might help an appraiser not familiar with your domains target market?
The acronym SHTF stands for Sh*T Hits The Fan. It's commonly used by anyone and everyone in the survival/prepper world..... "When the SHTF I'm heading to the mountains." etc. It's like the bread and butter of the survival/prepper world, usually finding it's way into almost every conversation.

Why ask for an appraisal when you have decided your selling price?

And all that fluff really means, your domain is useless as is.

For when one must explain what a domain stands for, it is no good.

Because I didn't say what it was worth, I have a ballpark where I think it MAY be (I don't think it's a $50 domain basically), but I'm guessing. I've never sold a domain before. I was looking for an experienced appraisal, not just a guess.

I got all that "fluff" from the sticky. I decided to answer the questions asked in the sticky to "help people give an accurate appraisal". anyone looking for anything survival/prepping related would know exactly what it means instantly. In fact I'm pretty sure most people understand the old saying "when the sh*t hits the fan".

Im sorry, but the name has no value at all.

99.9% of all people will not refer "SHTF" to "When the $hit hits the fan"

Get a refund if possible. There are much better names available to hand-reg for the niche your going after.

ok for development, I dont have a feeling that a preper is going to buy this domain for any ammount of money. A lot of people do infact refer to "SHTF" but that still doesnt help the domain much. IMO
