The joy of most domainers apart from the monetary aspect is to see that his/her domain is in use by whoever purchased it. It clearly shows;
-that you are doing things right
-that you have a creative mind
-that your domains are valuable
-that the end users share same ideology as you

Personally I think I still have a long way to go as I feel my success will be measured by how many domains I sold and are presently developed.

I will like to hear domainers view on this and if you can tell us the name of the domain as this will help is know if we are doing things right when adding names to our inventories.

after I sold it received emails from end user asking me to help him buy other (lesser value) domains for alot more he wanted to pay..

I know there is no monday-morning quarterbacking, but the lesson to learn I wanted to share is don't price your self potential out in giving the first quote.. seems obvious for experienced domainers, but in that moment you don't want to lose opportunity is the hasty feeling you get.. go for the moon, then fall back on the stars because if buyer(s) really want it - exclusively, they'll pay their own top dollar!

..and Life goes on :) :) :)

I can see the owner of optimizeapp.com bought optimiseapp.com and forwarded it to his domain. I think he/she is trying to secure all available spellings of his domain.

Optimise- british spelling
Optimize- American spelling

As a general rule I stay away from US v GB English differences in spellings, must be the same. Check out/use indifferentlanguages(dot)com to check keywords in international languages. There are many high-value keywords registered in various CLD's but not .com. Domains sold include less than 10 characters, .com, generic, with social media handles, easy to say and not-trademarked. Nothing sold beginning with letter "i". Have a non-negotiable minimum price set on all domains. Short-term means they often don't sell, but the better ones can reg for 5-10 years and wait for the right offer. Why sell for low $500 now when you can sell for high $5,000 in 2-3 years? Won't sell anything for under $1,000. Just not worth the research time and costs involved.

Hate dropping domains. Better to reg for 5 years and do the groundwork for the right buyer.

I sold this domain for few thousand dollars many years ago and later it becomes a large e-commerce site in Indonesia,
I read from news that this website is founded by the son of the richest person in Indonesia then I felt regretful that I sold it way too low. lol

in my language, as a manner of "self-depreciation", the domainer sometime call ourself as " the handlers who moving bricks (in construction site) ".....basically means in most time, domainer earn very small profit, while move the name from here to there...:xf.grin:

so, u are not alone...
