The joy of most domainers apart from the monetary aspect is to see that his/her domain is in use by whoever purchased it. It clearly shows;
-that you are doing things right
-that you have a creative mind
-that your domains are valuable
-that the end users share same ideology as you

Personally I think I still have a long way to go as I feel my success will be measured by how many domains I sold and are presently developed.

I will like to hear domainers view on this and if you can tell us the name of the domain as this will help is know if we are doing things right when adding names to our inventories.

I sold this domain for few thousand dollars many years ago and later it becomes a large e-commerce site in Indonesia,
I read from news that this website is founded by the son of the richest person in Indonesia then I felt regretful that I sold it way too low. lol

I see it was bought by the owner of paladindrones.io

Actually it was bought in stealth mode. Buyer acted like broker for a domain investor. Not sure if it was a domain investor or the actual company itself. They paid $7,500 for it. Not sure if that's a normal price domainers pay with the idea of a quick flip to Paladin Drones.

Reason I sold is well needed the money but also the CEO was adamant he was not interested in my domain and told me to take him off my mailing list. So either this broker or the domainer already had the inside track on this company or it was actually them. Either way they played their hand good. I was still happy with the sale. It was fair.

I'll let you guys figure out if it was a broker or the actual company doing stealth mode.

Sale happened thru Escrow.Domains. Buyer paid for the fees.

could have gotten more if I had just waited for these guys to become big but a sale is a sale.

after I sold it received emails from end user asking me to help him buy other (lesser value) domains for alot more he wanted to pay..

I know there is no monday-morning quarterbacking, but the lesson to learn I wanted to share is don't price your self potential out in giving the first quote.. seems obvious for experienced domainers, but in that moment you don't want to lose opportunity is the hasty feeling you get.. go for the moon, then fall back on the stars because if buyer(s) really want it - exclusively, they'll pay their own top dollar!

two memorable ones are touchnote to Apple and smartmetric to the same company name.(credit card technology company)

Still have the plurals com and net for that last one and indeed I think it lends it self more to Company, sales analysis , statistics etc

in my language, as a manner of "self-depreciation", the domainer sometime call ourself as " the handlers who moving bricks (in construction site) ".....basically means in most time, domainer earn very small profit, while move the name from here to there...

so, u are not alone...

I love that site on ladyhemp. I had one 5g domain in my first year of domaining but dropped it as it wasnt gaining any traction. Maybe I should have held for much longer.
