one of the most interesting domains ever that I recently purchased
That is clearly a gem, but could you ever justify letting it go for a million dollars?
Especially when compared to the sale prices of similar names like sex.com, videos.com, kk.com and candy.com....
If I ever had a offer like that I would take it and sell
What about if someone offered 50k?
I would happy say yes
Welcome to Namepros btw, I've just realised you're a new member, but unfortunately you have the wrong thread. This thread is about 1 million dollar domains
I think my Domain is a million dollar name
That is true. Domains inherently don't have any value. They become valuable because some is ready to pay or because of the content in it if hosted. You have Idol.com listed for 5M with no buyer.
Actually dictionary word domains especially stellar quality ones do have inherent value be it retail or wholesale— so you are wrong. In the case of Idol, most would ask for more. If the owner wanted to flip it he could do so in a heartbeat. Not the same could be said for large majority of regular caliber names.
A domain that is difficult to sell because it's priced at $10,000?
Then a domain where you are asking for $2 million has to be way more difficult.
the equation can't be "oh it's a $2 million domain. It will sell it self. no need for a salespitch."
You are missing the point entirely. There are names you have to justify a high price on (large majority of regular names) and then there are names everyone walking the planet knows are worth a hell of a lot and won’t be sold for less than 6 to 8 figures. Those names only require the owner and buyer to meet on a price. Both know that price is high from the onset and no value pitch is required.
Your sales were good and partially luck based. But that is apples to oranges.
Big difference between those names and top tier dictionary words. Luck is not needed on top caliber names. Just a buyer with a big enough wallet who might take months to decide if he is willing or able to pay what is being asked. But he certainly doesn’t need convincing on the worth or value of the name he is allready trying to get.
Dude, Nothing in this world has value, unless someone makes it valuable. Gold is valuable because we have made it. Domains are nothing without owner and content.
Thread has become spammy as predicted.
please make way for my DIJONAISE.COM .
This is how we lose money in domaining by wasting time on nonsense stuffs.
If you want to dream big then go back to sleep.
