I'm wondering, do you guys think there will be increased demand/value in cloud related domains? Or, do you think that cloud management will be controlled by large companies like google, cisco, microsoft, etc, eliminating the need for generic cloud related domains?

There are a few opensource and commercial home storage/NAS projects and products out there. There might be a niche there but I don't expect it to get big unless the big companies overprice. Although it did get a lot easier the last few years...

The good news is that the term is generic, but the other side of the coin to that is that it's difficult for companies to TM them, which will make them wary of using such names as a brand.

I recently read a couple of articles about this cause I wasn't sure whether cloud was trademarked.

I do have a few. I'm cautious about buying many more though until I have a better grasp on what the future market might look like.

Future market?

This is a current / past market. Already a large dedicated cloud thread.

anyone getting food parking revenue from their cloud related names?

Inquiries, yes. Parking revenue - not much on cloud names, but then not much on any of my names anymore.

There will always be a need for cloud names and there is a big demand with cloud startups, because its so easy to start a cloud company, it can be started from your garage if you really want to with very little overheads

Most of my cloud sales have been to people starting cloud companies

.
The future is already here in regards to cloud computing, but make sure you focus on cloud computing related words and dont just add any keyword to cloud and think it will sell, rather pay a bit more to an existing cloud domain owner for a decent name and then hold it (or approach end users)
