Hello domainers,
I have 2 domains expired. I need advice from you whether I should renew dovii.com and omgii.com. Whether its worth to keep it?
I have 2-3 days left to renew before deleted. The late renewal fees will be $80 each.
I checked with whois, both names are sold/taken by new buyers under privacy.
Please advice. Thank you for your help.

These are quite brandable names.Just need to wait for perfect buyer.I guess you can get mid XXX$ to low xxxx$ on these.I have seen most of these kind of names bought by chinese investors.

Make Bucks.Enjoy :D

@Raymond C - My guess is you are misinterpreting the whois - they simply disabled and put registrar default privacy on, these names have not sold, they do not appear to have expiring auctions

IF and only IF, you want to keep these domains, TRANSFER, do NOT pay the late fee! Pick any other registrar and start the transfer ASAP. What other registrars do you use? There's several under $10

Personally, I would not at all pay $80 plus renewal, and I am not sure I would even pay for transfer on these, but $10 is better than $80 if that helps you decide.

It is against ICANN policy for them to deny transfer after expiry. You have to be able to get Auth Code, Unlock and maybe remove privacy, see if they have bulk functions to do this and you can send a test message to yourself at the privacy email and see if you receive it at the email you previously had on the domain.

It appears you have a couple days left, you look to be on day 40, according to their terms, you are very close, do not delay

After Expiry
TLD Registrar Solutions will take the following action if you have not made payment of your domain renewal:
1 day after the domain expiry date we will suspend your domain and your website will cease functioning.
44 days after the domain expiry date your domain will be placed on "Pending Delete" status and it will enter the redemption period. If you wish to renew your domain whilst the domain is in the redemption period you will be required to pay a redemption fee of US$100

If that is what you want to do, share what other registrars you use and we can figure out who has best transfer prices and fast support if needed. This is mostly a losing registrar issue though if you run into problems.

Thanks for your advice and input. I may just drop it.
  • 7 days prior to the domain expiry date – Your domain will not be able to be transferred to another registrar after this time.

I fully agree with simply dropping them. Not enough possible end users, you could wait forever as a brandable. The ending in ii is confusing, don't think I care for it even in other available domains.

I was so focused on the AFTER expiry, I didn't even see that line! I do question whether or not they have the right to do this, according to the ICANN terms

Moot point if you are dropping, I just like to know the rules in case they are needed

How did you end up with domains there? Their site had hard to find info, and I couldn't see how to even get an account.

I think a year ago, the registrar internetbs.net or internet.bs gave massive discount for .com domain transfer about $3 each. So I transfer many .com from Godaddy to Internetbs.net. But renewal is expensive $13+.

It is a bad site, not recommend to anyone. I went there because of very cheap transfer that time. The site is very hard to navigate..even pay by credit card quite a drama..... . The good thing is that they only delete expired domain after 74 day, where as GD delete after 42 day expiration. Also GD charge $80 before 42 days, whereas Internetbs charge $13 before 42 days..... I'm confused now...hard to keep up all these rules....I can renew Dovii.com and Omgii.com for $13 each provided before 42 days....

Dovii is a common name, a species of cichlid (Scientific Name: Parachromis Dovii) for a very aggressive fish around 28-30 inches found in Central America. Often times they are kept in aquarium.

Omgii is used by a well-known restaurant, a coffee house in Malaysia.

If it was me, I would keep both of them. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It may not be beautiful for other people but I find beauty in them.

5L brandables sell well. Some names such as sprii, carii, envii, nogii, jipii, lavii, yomii, artii, dizii, livii, artii (all dot com) were sold for $x,xxx figures.

How much you could sell this for? 5, 4, 3, 2, or 1 figure? Who knows... only time will tell.

I have just one ending in ii, I think:

blogii.com

•••
OMGii.com can be branded OMG Oh My God ! Surprise or shock in everyday events or parties....Can be a social media for surprise shocking events/news around the world

DOVii.com can be a Fish Keepers hobby or product aquarium for sale....

Parachromis dovii is a beautiful colourful/sparkling /shinning /dazzling fish for domestic pets, it can be represent a dazzling fashion label brand for youth market - fresh, youthful, celebrity fashion, Mardi Gras outfits.....

DOVII in Fashion

I can develop the sites that way...just a thought.
