I've had shop-zone.com for over 10 years. Many plans to develop, but nothing concrete. Thought it would be a good time to sell/develop for the upcoming holiday season.

Any feedback, appraisals, appreciated.

Thanks,

Greg

Develop Develop ... it is a nice name. You can start developing now with one of the automated script for Amazon or Overstock and then backlink as much as possible. If you start working now by Thanksgiving and Christmas it should be fun and this should not cost you more than 500 dollars MAX.

Based on your signature it seems you are a web designer, which is even better and can take your cost down. One thing I learnt over a period that most important aspect is backlinking.

Good Luck.

sids70,

Thanks so much for the advice. Seems to be the way to go. I was actually thinking of letting that name go for $500 to invest in some other names, but that (developing) seems to be my best shot.

Thanks again!

I don't understand!
You state on your Signature Advertised website that you have been building Small sites for 15 years, yet you haven't even developed this name in 10 years.

Develop it and you will reap the benefits.
Use that artisteer software and create an exciting Template.

Developed as minisite $200+
as is $50 (Not worth anywhere near $500)

Thanks for the honesty, DJuga.

Been doing it that long, yes.

(some quick background) Had shop-zone.com built up a few times over the years - amazon shop, web templates shop. Building a nice looking site isn't the problem. Marketing and actually making $ with it is for me these days. Back in the 'day', '99 to '01, I was killing on the net with domain registration sites (had 5 of them in the top 10 of alta vista and other search engines) and registered some 5000 domains for clients. I had money to burn and learn (spent 10k over a 1yr period just on marketing and software stuff). What happened? I stayed with my #1 passion (radio broadcasting) until that ended in December, and now trying to get back in.

Testing the waters on selling few of the names - biggest one is Moneymania.com (in another post). Estibot has it at $2400, sedo's estimation is $3000 to $4900 (to end users of course). Would dump THAT one today for $2k

I like the suggestions of minisites and yours look great. (GREAT software, isn't it?) Had thought about the contentminisites.com cuz of the massive content and cheap prices.

Thanks again for feedback. Helps alot.

Thanks for all of your feedback and suggestions!

Developing the site in time for the holidays seems to be the best thing to do and confirms my 'gut' on what to do with this domain.

I've looked into a few amazon and click bank 'auto' scripts and kind of like this idea (auto estore looked kind of good). However, the amazon 'stores' from these scripts pretty much look all of the same and my 'concern' is that 'Shop-zone.com' is NOT an amazon brand or 'any' brand for that matter, so what would make them 'buy' from me (or even 'land' on my site to buy)?

Probably the wrong place to ask - and if it is, please direct me to a better spot to start a new thread - but what do you think would work 'best' for development without spending a ton?
- Throwing a bunch of pre packaged articles and making an Adsense site?
- using a site like the contentsites.com pre-packaged 'stuff'?
- Put a bunch of separate click bank affilate squeeze pages within the 'shop-zone' domain?
- simply using one of these automated amazon or click bank scripts, build a store and hope I get traffic to it?
- outsource everything? to whom?

Again. Back in the day, I'd build 5 or so similar (but different enough) sites - keywords in domains, titles, descriptions - submit it to a billion search engines and FFA links, and get lucky as hell with good placement in the searches. That was about 1 billion people on the internet ago:) Changed a 'bit' since then.

Thanks for the great information you all provide!
