Several Massive Domain Portfolios For Sale

Hi I am working with the owner of a blog network that has been around since the early days of the internet. He has several thousand domains with most of them concentrated in the manufacturing sector. He also has a large group of "ILove" themed domains. I'm looking for a way to sell off a portion or all of these domains and need advice on how to approach it. Atom has a portfolio marketplace where you can list names... quite a few people are paying attention over there.

I'd probably try contacting the larger brokerages. They would probably cherry pick the best names and you may only get the "trade" price for them but that would be the most likely way to sell names quickly.

If time isn't an issue then listing at reputable marketplaces as mentioned above would be the way forward.

The ads on the homepages are paid (at least some of them). He used to generate a lot of revenue (now probably only about 50k/year), but the lack of automated sales process has caused the revenue to drop quite a bit in the past few years

$50k/year is not nothing. If you made a lot more, my suggestion would be to try to increase your revenue again and then sell the entire thing as a revenue generating portfolio.

$50k/year is not nothing. If you made a lot more, my suggestion would be to try to increase your revenue again and then sell the entire thing as a revenue generating portfolio.

I appreciate the insight! I think my major hangup with that is what I would have to do to get them in shape. They are all built with HTML and need to be re-done on Wordpress or perhaps Drupal. I suppose I could look for some investment. My thoughts were to try to generate a couple hundred thousand selling domains and invest the revenue into rebuilding the ones I thought had the most growth potential
