I'm currently working on a rather large website project and the customer requested to also include a service contract. He even mentioned a price. I have no experience with service contracts, I normally just make them a new estimate of what the new changes will costs and then send them a new invoice for it. I'm willing to make a service contract, but I'm not sure what what would a raisonable offer. I hope by posting here I may find out what others do. Who has experiences with service contracts and what does the contract include?
Example: De customer wants a contract for 2500 dollars and our hourly rate is 25 dollars. What could I offer for this 2500 dollars (except the 100 hours is normally would be). I don't feel like not doing any work and then having to spend a 100 hours in the last month of the contract, so I was thinking of limiting the hours per week and per hour, but I don't know if this is fair. Let's say I would offer him 150 hours per year, max. 25 hours a month and max, 8 hours per week. Would that be a fair deal?
I'm curious what others do so I look forward to hearing from you.
