i have read about the Google panda algorithm for EMDs.It does state that if the content on the domain is of good quality , it's position on google shouldn't be affected.

So my question is that if I have a website for example Abcdef.com which is completely built and appears in 2nd page of Google for keyword " Antique tools" .

I buy an exact matched domain AntiqueTools.Com which is the business I'm in and redirect the EMD to my current domain , would the EMD show up on Google 1-3 SERPS without any developing?

Also can I expect a boost in the current domain's page ranking?

No, it won't help you at all as long as you just redirect the EMD. You might get small type in traffic from the redirected domain and thats all, won't help ranking your abcdef.com domain.

A redirected won't have any ranking on Google. What you should rather do is work on ur site that's currently ranking on Page 2. Add some more content on to the main site if you can. If you don't have a blog area on the site. Create a blog area and starting adding some decent blog content, related to the main keyword as well as associated keywords. Then start adding social media links (facebook/twitter/pinterest/etc...) Throw in a decent press release or two. Depending on the competition of the actual niche and keywords you should be able to improve your ranking considerably.

No, the EMD won't show up anywhere since it's redirected. Only websites can show up in SERPs, and in your case it's not website, it's just redirected domain, fiction.

Redirecting to the other domain won't change your site rankings.
Aside from that, EMDs are no longer a free pass to ranking, unless theres very little competition. They can help (as long as you don't over-optimize) but won't automatically put you on p1.
Minor technicality: Panda has nothing to do with EMDs. Panda is about thin and poor quality content. :)

So suppose I'm a real estate agent and I get the domain houstonrealestate.com and use it for my online presence/business, would the EMD help me rank higher than my other alternate "Insharealestatelawfirm.com" for the keywords "Houston real estate" ?

Well, assuming that the content is of the same quality and targetted for the same keywords and both sites have the similar back link structure then an EMD would simply give you a slight edge. They do no have the same value they used to have..it's merely a nice to have these days and not a must have.

Do a search for Real Estate Houston (or Houston Real Estate). Look at what IS on the first page (after the 4 ads) -
Realtor.com
Zillow
Trulia
Craigslist
Homes.com
Century 21
Redfin

You're not going to beat out authority sites like that just because you have an EMD.

Unitedrealestatehouston is at the bottom of P2 for Real Estate Houston.

For many service businesses, the first organic ranking is below the fold (4 ads + the local pack above it.) And the first results are usually Yelp, Superpages, Yellowpages, HomeAdvisor. You're not going to push those out of your way with an EMD either.

EMD or PMD might help against your immediate competitors, but its not the deciding factor. There's a lot which can override it.

Typical local result Notice how far down the page organic search results start. A listing without a web site is higher on the page in the local pack.
