I have heard that META TAGS play a relevance in search engine results and what they will show for your site impression. However i am unsure how to do this, looked through plenty of guides but they all seem like gibberish to me.

I've looked at the header.tpl in the first forum i am pretty sure this is were i put it. Can someone help me and tell me what to put and were?

<title>{SITENAME} - Business Ideas Discussion</title>

<link rel="stylesheet" href="templates/ndesign/{T_HEAD_STYLESHEET}" type="text/css">

Add the lines in green to your template and fill in between the quotes what you think would apply to your site.

Don't get to hung up on it though, provide relevant information and make it unique, so don't repeat the same description and keywords on all your pages and your good to go!

Provide a relevant description to the page and relevant keywords.

Spend a good amount of attention to your page titles, this is a strong factor.

I'm not that familiar working with forums but if you're using vBulletin you should look into using VBSEO to optimize your forum.

All the best :tu:

Meta keywords and meta description tags won't really help you rank higher.

The meta description should be different on every page. If you can't make it different on every page, then leave it out.

The meta description tag often becomes the text snippet in the search engine results. That is its main purpose.
