My last post on here was just a joke, guess it was deleted.
I think it is possible for there to be value on youtube names, but the truth is that people find youtube channels through two main ways: through google and within youtube itself. In fact, I would bet if you asked anyone what the name extentions of their top 5 favorite youtube channels were, they would get them wrong unless they were very obvious or promoted directly on their channel. And no one is like, I want to see some videos with cute kittens in them, so I'll type in youtube.com/cutekittens - they just go to youtube and search there.
That being said, the names would have two main advantages - google indexing, in case someone searches for cute kittens videos or cute kittens youtube in google, and second, brandable names, where you can brand your channel with a catchy name like RachelTV or something like this that Rachel would prefer over say, rachelsspecialchannel111.
There are some issues, is it even legal to buy large amounts of them and sell them? I doubt youtube would like this, probably violates their tos in some way, or if it doesn't right now, they will throw in a clause or two very quickly once they realize its happening. Domains are not owned by a private coorperation. And second, who would buy them? Better get in touch with other coorperations or something because the kid who just got a webcam could care less what his username is.
