Domain investors frequently ask us questions regarding selling domain names to NameMedia. With this in mind, we wanted to share the Top 5 list to clarify a few points.

1. NameMedia Buys in Bulk. NameMedia is one of the few resources that can buy names in volume. We have purchased hundreds of thousands of names in the past, including from many of you, and we are buying more right now.
2. Quick Access to Cash. NameMedia buys names very quickly – allowing you to complete a sale (and get paid!) in a short period of time.
3. Industry Trust. NameMedia is a globally trusted partner to sell domain names. You can be assured of prompt payment, an easy transaction and solid customer service.
4. Your Partner: NameMedia provides a fully integrated domain management solution whereas you can sell (or buy) your names to BuyDomains, list your names on AfternicDLS, or monetize your names through ActiveAudience.
5. Domain Variety. NameMedia buys domains from hundreds of different categories and from all the popular tld’s and cctld’s.

If you are interested in selling your domain(s), submit your names to http://www.buydomains.com/sellYourDomainNames.do.

We look forward to working with you.

All the best,

David Hauser

In my last communication with you guys i was offered about $500 for the LLL.coms and CC.coms - The others were even lower.
Waste of time IMO.

I have used them many times and normally deal with a nice guy called Ted :tu:

Quick no fuss payment and yes, they are not end-user prices but... some are higher then what I have been offered on the forums....

I have had a good expeirience with them

:)

I'd second mellowmasher. Had good experience with Ted as well. :tu:

However, do not expect satisfying prices. Afterall, they're resellers too, albeit on a larger scale than most of us here. :]

Used, quick, easy... and yes they were for reseller prices. You can not expect to get a lot from a company buying in bulk.

I vote +1 for Ted ;)!

Some are lucky and have a large income and can afford hundreds/thousands on renewals.. Most cant :]

Sometimes its nice to have alittle flow of flipped cash to keep domaining.

At the end of the day they are still re-sellers and are not going to give end user prices so if thats all you are looking for.. great but not everyone has the luxury of being able to hold names for years.

There were some people here and other forums
offered me $50 for LL.org and LL.net :D
$500 for LLL.com is not bad ;)

My name is Ted Olson. I'm the acquisitions manager with BuyDomains - an award-winning company, and the world's leading source for Buying, Parking, and Selling premium domain names.

I am contacting you in regards to your portfolio submission.

Given your price hopes we would not be your buyer. Should you be open to sell a selection of your names in thelower $xx range per, we may be able to work together.

From experience, I can assure you.. that you can not be trusted when it comes to purchasing domains at reseller value.... sure you buy in bulk.. everyone here also buys in bulk... you pay pennies, we pay dollars...

A domain that sells for $500 on NP for LOW reseller value.. NAMEMEDIA pays $10-$30 dollars....

I recommend all Domainers stay away from this guy and his company... recently they offered me $25 US for a domain that gets offers as low as $4000 US right here on NP!

you may be one of the only big companies draining our industry with your old school purchase methods.... but please.. don't take us for a fool...

We are DOMAINERS, a generation that will not be fooled to sell for pennies to your company.

NP Members we are a family, we must stand together when it comes to our assets and our future! If you need money and you own good domains, it will sell right here on NP.

yep ive had the same treatment absolutely pennies for decent names, below reg fee offers are an insult

and shouldnt a request for names be in the marketplace instead of general discussion

If you're not happy with the offers, don't sell. It's that simple. :) Selling to NameMedia is good if you need quick cash, but you shouldn't expect full market value for that level of liquidity. :imho:

I've found NameMedia pays the most for keyword-based domains, not short domains or "brandable" names.

Exactly!

The people that i have found that complain about the company are people that try to sell short domains to them, i.e. LLL.coms and other short names. Why would a reseller company pay top dollar for a domain which they know the rock bottom reseller prices for?

no one is complaining.. its simply outrageous, a company like namemedia offers pennies for LLL's or Premium QUAD LLLL's ...

and regarding your comments about keyword domains.. recently, I had a Domainer contact me about 6 offers he received... clearly, namemedia was offering penies for 2 word premium domains... 2 word or short domains make no difference in there buying methods.. simply they will offer you pennies for any domain... if they did not offer pennies.. you think they would have the same power today? there interest is to snatch domains!

NP is a established Domain Forum with 100K + members, clearly namemedia must have some respect for us here.. we trade 24 hours a day... if namemedia wants to laugh about it and insult us with there silly offers..... then we need to respond to this purchase method!

We are Domainers, we are not individuals who have no experience.. for that reason, we have to protect each other. As a Domainer its our duty to protect each other.

FYI: Domainers
buying, selling, developing and monetizing Internet domain names not for primary use as a website, but with the goal of profit generation with the intent of resale, like real estate. A domainer is a person who engages in domaining.

Sorry to say it but who ever is getting pennies for their domains has prolly got crap domains. I have been getting good prices and they actually raise their price if you counter offer, a reasonable and optimistic domainer should know that...
