Taking into account the recent interpretation of the law regarding domain names containing a TM I have just registered this domain. My intention is to use it to highlight the situation regarding the domain parking and marketing of Sedo as well as the fiasco and subsequent debacle of the Sedo/mTLD auction.

I would love to hear market valuations of just the domain name, purely for academic interest.

GENTLEMEN! Right I have your attention, I know you both mean me well, and that I really do appreciate, but please do not fall out.

As long as I have no adverts or make money directly from the site and as long as I only report facts then I am in the clear.

I guess what surprises me most is that Sedo did not do a defensive registration of this domain, but then again we are talking about Sedo I guess!

My intention is clear, and I have broadcast it on three forums and in all my signatures, the site is to be used as a critique of the company, with of course special reference to the present on going situation.

It is just a coincidence that 30 minutes after I registered the name the latest mTLD press release was issued. Even in this press release the statements reported to have been made by Sedo to mTLD are ludicrous. As long as such statements continue to be made by mTLD and Sedo, and especially contradictory statements, then I will have plenty to fill a site.

Now please I really would like valuations on the domain name by itself.

Nope. It is not a coincidence. You registering that name is the reason they isssued a press release.

The second mTLD seen that registration, then seen your name in the whois, they instantly scrambled to assign the best PR people to do some damage control, even though they do not own any part of Sedo. Not bad for 30 minutes work.

Lol, could not help but bring up the possible legal issues.

As for the valuation: I would actually value this above reg fee, as 'SEDO' is a popular search term, so i would say mid xx. If you had the .com version i would say mid XXX.

The reason i value this high is based upon the previous scenarios i talked about.

* If you type paypal into google paypalsucks is the 4th result out of 676,000,000

* If you type in the company name i was speaking of earlier they were actually outranked by the [companyname]sucks.com version.

They tend to rank really high!

Zero haze, I do appreciate what you have said, indeed it is good advice you gave.

I know enough to know that when I am not sure to get legal advice. But I have cleared my idea already and as long as I don't make money on the site and only report facts I should be safe (nothing is a certainty). If they do try grabbing the name of me or threaten legal action against my host I most definately have a solution for that (and of course publicise the facts as well).
