These kind of mis-spelt names are getting more and more popular among startups.
Once funded, they go for acquisition of the matching .COM.
I guess this sale is one of such case.

I would rather say it's an expressive variation of 'Smile',in the context,when you pronounce it with an additional stress on syllable 'i' ,you do tend to wear a nice smile and maybe even have a great picture clicked in the process.
