Sedo question

Hi!

I'm very very new to domaining, I haven't even bought any yet, just doing research. Now I have looked into Sedo and read everything I could find about it but I just want to ask if I am understanding it.

If I list a .com for example, the commission I have to pay Sedo is $50. But if I list it with a buy now price I have to pay them 10%, right?

I have an old .nu I might try to sell. For a .nu is this right: If I list it without a price, I will have to pay Sedo $200 in commission. But if I list it with a buy now price it will be 10% and no minumum.

Did I understand it right? I just want to be absolutely sure because my .nu won't bring in more than $200 so I don't want to end up having to pay that out of my own pocket.

Do you have to pay Sedo anything if the domain doesn't sell?

Sorry for such a newbie question and thanks for the answers in advance =).

I can answer the last question: You don't have to pay Sedo anything if the domain doesn't sell. It's a free domain selling service.

Welcome to the business Domaining btw. I just started a couple months ago. Feel free to ask anything on this forum, there are tons of experienced experts that will give you advice if you just ask.

Yeah they provide different rates for different tlds. On the page you linked, if you click on the minimal fee links in there, a pop up will show up saying what tlds have a commission of $50; the category I tlds. Category II tlds have a commission of $200. A .nu isn't in the first category so I was making sure I would have to pay $200 for a .nu in commission if it didn't have a buy now price. The pop up looks better but here's the direct link to the pop up page with that info: https://www.sedo.co.uk/uk/popups/price-category/

Thanks =)

hey newbie

the trick is to price the domain where you will still receive the :net" amount you want, minus the commission fee.

eg:

commission $200
net $300
list for sale or settle for $500

imo...
