Sedo Premium Domain Auctions?

Hello,

Has anyone had luck initiating a Sedo auction for a domain name that has not had a prior bid, but one that both you (and Sedo) felt was a premium domain?

The reason I ask is that I have a .tv domain that I think is an excellent domain (keyword) and I feel that if it received exposure through a Sedo auction, it would definitely receive bids so I am going to contact a Sedo broker and see if they feel the same.

Any advice or experiences with this would be greatly appreciated.

I was told by Sedo months ago that they would only sponsor dotcom domains for a non-bid auction. That is/was a poor practice and I assume Sedo will abandon that strategy at some point. So write them and see what they say. Good luck.

I think each Sedo broker has different standard on this. That wired :(

here is the answer I got from Sedo for my last application (One June 22nd)

We have recently changed our requirements for our auction system. The broker auction is now reserved for premium domains only (category-owning, short, generic and preferably .com with considerable traffic and revenue; other TLDs such as .co.uk, .de or .net and multiword domains may be considered if they prove to have high traffic and revenue). Therefore, the domains you provided would not qualify. However, once you have received an offer for any of your domains, you will be presented with the option to start an auction. You will have 5 days to send a domain to auction from when you receive your latest offer. The original buyer’s offer will be used as your reserve price, and should no higher bids be received, the domain will be sold for that amount. However, as auctions raise the level of competition for domain names, you may very well receive higher bids. For more information about the auction system, please visit: http://www.sedo.co.uk/auction/overview/?tracked=&partnerid=25717&language=e
