I concur that it was a wise decision to not try and squeeze more money out of this name - which is indeed borderline offensive and may be a tough name to truly make big.... IMHO.
I hope the buyer uses it as Jewish classifieds site and not what I suspect he might build on it...
Edit: Jews tend to have pretty deep pockets, and I'm allowed to say that because I am one . I personally would have stuck firm at $499 because $300 sounds like a serious offer from an enduser who COULD pay $499 but wanted to take a crack at scooping it up for less. If he truly wanted a bargain, he would have started off by lowballing you ($60-$150). All IMHO.
JoshuaPz you may be correct but theres also another side of the story...the domain isn't worth that much and even selling it for +$300 is a very good achivement for this domain imo.
anyway if you "have pretty deep pockets" you could buy the domain from our friend at $499 ^^
hehehe

I actually know who the buyer is in this case. He purchased a couple of similar domains from me, and I can tell you he could have bid much higher than $499.
Still, you are right that $340 ain't a bad sale on a domain like that. JewishJobs.com or JewishClassifieds.com would be far more valuable since "Jew" is invariably used in derogatory contexts: Google: An explanation of our search results
