Sedo added the direct auction option a few weeks ago - does anyone have results to report yet?

I don't use this option, but I have observed the no-bids domains being added on a daily basis.
As expected, most domains pushed to auction are worthless, I even saw a .tel domain (but it's got one bid !).
Many domains are in new extensions. Examples: .forsale .so .tips .yoga .today
Clearly, there are dreamers (and inexperienced sellers) trying their luck.

I think it's a big improvement from the previous 'offer and push to auction' set up.
Of course, it's only useful if the domain listed is realistically likely to attract bids, is difficult to get it out in the mainstream market and any sale will cover the listing fee and more.
It's interesting to see what people have listed and think are saleable.
Had moderate success with a LLLL which sold this week and very happy with the quick turnaround of funds.

My experience, right from the start, not good.

1 hour ago (11:48AM) I set up and paid for a Direct Auction at Sedo.

I still cant find it. I dont even know where to look.

I have not received ANY confirmation from Sedo that I set it up or that they received payment.

I did get a confirmation from my bank that Sedo charged my card $59 so.......

I dont know. Its really simple, you purchase something - you get a confirmation of that purchase. I have received nothing. Not a good start. Should have stuck with GoDaddy.

I've used it a few times and watched it a number of times besides that. Just like most places, the bids will vary on the names. I've seen a few weak names sell for surprise amounts like $100 (when they don't really look worth $60) and others that won't get any bids at all. Most that get a high number of bids are names that would get a high number of bids anywhere like LLL.net, LLLL.com, and similar.

It's a bit of a gamble and depending on your name will likely depend on the outcome.

@AGAME you may need to give it a day or so. Once payment is complete it will go into queue at Sedo where they will need to approve it. Then, I believe it shows up listed as an "Upcoming" for a day or so, where people can see it but cannot place bids on it. After that, it hits the market people can bid on it for the next week or so. Been a couple months since I used it myself, but if I remember correctly that's how it went.
