I have several domains that I am planning to sell in the near future. Most are geographic/tourism related .com's.

I first plan on emailing local tourism offices and see if they want to make an offer. Just in case they won't, I thought of auctioning them.

But imagine the situation they make an offer which is however lower than I expected. Is there an auction site (I only know sedo.com but I am sure there are others) where you can have an auction up without being obliged to sell if the highest bid doesn't please you? Because if the highest bid is still lower than the bid I got from the tourism association, then it would be a pity having to sell to the auction guy...

PS: the domains will only be sold later on. They need to be sold before renewal date in September. But as I am currently tossing and turning about selling the .eu's or not that I have, I will just take care of that first and only afterwards start looking for bids on the geographical/tourism orientated .com's I have.

Sedo auctions require a bid to start...usually you would only send it to auction if you could sleep at night selling for that first bid (knowing that the market set the final price, it can be comforting to sell than way, even if you are stuck without subsequent bids).

i assume you have great geo's dot com

if so you can set a reserve price at sedo and the name will be sold only if this reserved is met (bids begin with $60); if you go to sedo's auction you can see there are one color in the left of each name (green if reserve was met, yelow if it wasnt)

you can try snapnames as well but you have to transfer your names to them but you can also set a minimum proce, then bids begin from this price you set

at tdnam you can set a reserve price as well

a brief explanation but hope it helps

You cannot set a minimum price yourself, and then see if anyone makes a higher bid?

Or can you just start an auction at some auction sites, and then decide at the end if you accept the highest bid or prefer to hold on to the domain some longer?
