I can't wait until I can try this out! I think I still have a domain that had an offer that never went through, going to see if I can put that in there. :)

I just noticed it myself. Up and running.
Top three highest auctions as of this post:

tractors.com 5d 10h 71,000 $US
nerd.com 5d 10h 51,000 $US
pottery.com 5d 10h 27,500 $US

I'm excited to see what nerd.com will sell for since I own nerd.us! :)

I just hope it dont start a huge bogus bid list just to get names into an auction.

"Premium" can be auctioned without reserve being met.

Other names can be auctioned provided they have received a bid that has been accepted by the seller (ie reserve met).

Do I read that correctly?

Also If I remember Tractor.com sold for $45K last year?

?

This is great unless they buyer has no idea it would then be taken to an auction

You know --- that is a real problem SEDO is creating.

Look at it from the buyer's point of view. The last thing a businessman wants, after he has done his due diligence in finding a name (read that spending his valuable time), is for the thing to be blazed to everyone in sight as an auction, as a minimum causing delay, probably costing money, and perhaps sending "his" name to someone else.

Once they see this c^@p the buyers are OUT OF THERE.

This is my worry... are buyers for warned that offers may lead to an auction??

Is there a feature that enables the sellers to stop it going to auction? if not then they need it like yesterday. Or i can see all our fears coming true, buyers will back out becuase it will go like Ebay i.e phizing etc

Totally agree - I would definetly bail out of the deal if I was the buyer :yell:

I think there are going to be a few dissapointed people when they find out the auction did'nt increase their bid and the original buyer all of a sudden stops contact.

"binding contract" yeah right...sedos aint gonna chase them up !

Strange way to do an auction IMO......early days though ;)

The "Premium" listings are IMO clogging up the auction process. There are a ton of domains in the auction with no bids and a bunch more with a lot of bids but not at the reserve.

If they really just limit it to domains that have received offers and you know the reserves are met I think it'll be best.

We'll soon know if the "reserve met" domains are getting any price improvement from Sedo auction.

If not, it's bad news. I would attribute that to the way the auction is implemented.

As I said, Sedo should have followed the eBay model, which most people are familiar and comfortable with.
