Sedo auction: I see price and time left not updated..

In the Sedo Auction section, I see from the top, the first domain now all ending in more than 8 hours......then if I click the first one it says ending in 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Same problem with prices, sometimes I see one price on the list and higher price inside the listing.

Is it my stupid browser (I.E.) or what?

Thanks

:o that`s really "great" :td:

Sedo now is starting to have troubles with the auction interface too......someone please send a message to them, I`ll do the same. :'(

few minutes ago on this auction:

http://www.sedo.com/auction/auction_detail.php?language=us&auction_id=23586&tracked=&partnerid=

for UWWO.com

the time left was 1 hour and 45 minuts....

now it`s more than 7 hours!!! D-:

And the worst thing is that I`m sure I have seen it with 7 minutes left earlier today......WHAT`S GOING ON WITH SEDO???? :'(

Hi,

When Sedo is aware of site downtime that affects a wide selection of auctions, we will sometimes extend the auctions. The auction bidding history page states the extension time, although the listings may not be fully indexed when this is noticed. This delay in indexing will make it appear as though the information is incorrect.

However, all of the effected auctions, especially those that would have ended during or shortly after this time, have been extended for additional bidding. We recommend that buyers check the auctions to stay on top of new bids.

We're sorry for the inconvenience, but appreciate the understanding of our desire to maximize the effectiveness of the auction platform.

Take care!

Always,
Keith

Thanks Keith for the fast reply, I already wrote to [email protected] too since I was very alarmed about this.

I check Sedo everyday many times a day and never seen such a problem.

Thanks !

OH NOOO!!!
I did not notice that! This is UNACCEPTABLE!

I asked to the 2 bidders to make their offer at a specific time to cover all USA and Europe and now it`s just all messed.

:'( Keith please, can you change back the ending time for my 2 auctions:

This one had to end at 3 PM NEW YORK time:
, and now it`s ending at 01.47 AM D-:

http://sedo.com/auction/auction_detail.php?language=us&auction_id=23893&tracked=&partnerid=

The second one was ending just 1 hour earlier around 2 PM New York time , now it`s ending 45 minuts after midnight! D-:

http://www.sedo.com/auction/auction_detail.php?language=e&auction_id=23897&tracked=&partnerid=14456

This is penalising my 2 auctions so I want them back ending at the original time of the original day, moving them forward won`t be the same because I noticed less activity during week-ends. They were set to end around 3 and 2 PM New York time on Friday the 18th and that`s when I want them to end, otherwise I was not moving them to auction :yell:

If Sedo continues to have so many problems with the auction system, we really are losing faith in Sedo. ALready it has more expensive commisions than TDNAM and eBay, and these others don`t have these kind of issues.
Maybe you should decide to the sellers what time/day to end everytime you get problems like this?

Hi All,

This is the most recent communication regarding the recent auction issue:

"Due to a server problem on Monday, January 14, 2008 all auctions running at 06:00 pm EST were automatically extended by 9 hours. The length of the extension was due to a technical error and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

In order to remedy the situation all auctions originally scheduled to close before January 16, 2008 6:00 am EST will be extended by 24 hours. Therefore the auctions will end at the same time, but one day later. All auctions which were originally scheduled to close after January 16, 2008 6:45 am EST will close at the original closing time.

Again we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and we appreciate your understanding. Please contact us if you have any further questions."

I hope that helps to clarify a bit. Take care!

Always,
Keith

Hi Keith,

yes I received 1 e-mail informing me regarding only 1 of my 2 auctions:

Due to a technical error, the auction of your domain name odyf.com was mistakenly extended by 9 hours.

We would like to let you know that we have already corrected this error - your auction will now end on the original date and time.

well, this did not happen, since both auctions are still 2 hours later than the original ending times.....certainly much better than before but still not what Sedo says.
How is possible in 2008 that such events continues to happen, Sedo makes a lot of money, why don`t they buy decent software or whatever is needed?

Snapnames , Pool , NameJet and even TDNAM do not ever get these problems and Certainly Sedo is not smaller than all of them.

I`m extremely unsatisfied and next time I have to choose where to sell any of my 500+ domains , I`ll think twice.

thanks posting about this Keith ... my auction is now to end at the original time ...

drago - are you sure that your auctions actually started at the time "you think they originally started" ... because if there is an extension it would appear on Bidding History (???)

sidenote:

this is a nice tool to calculate time zones and therefore end times in various countries/areas (from timeanddate.com which has many more time/date stuff)

Meeting Planner

eg. this is in connection with the Friday auctions

Yes I`m sure, It was checked and rechecked many times with the bidders as well right because this time I wanted to end them in those specific hours to cover all Usa and all Europe but I did not have the crystal ball telling me the future.. :td:

It does not matter now, it`s too late to change anything else, plus at least now it`s just 2 hours , not 9 which was really a mess.

Hopefully it`s the last time it happen.

in a "somewhat" related subject ... .orgs , .infos and .tvs do not appear on the SEDO homepage ... :bah: (though .co.uks do)

since I mostly deal with .coms (with some exceptions though) ... I understand why they want their homepage to seem a little more "consolidated" (especially since it is "Featured Domains" and not "Ending Soon Domains") ... it still seems strange though ...

I found that out because 2008.INFO was before surereturn.com and while surereturn.com is on the homepage 2008.INFO is not ... then I looked around and saw that a .org and a .tv which should have been there , are not ...

you might think "Earthian is pissed because his domain is not in the homepage niener niener" ... but no , I am not pissed ... it just seems odd ... especially for .orgs ...
