Sedo/Afternic negotiations

Just wanted to get some thoughts of everyone on negotiating on Sedo or Afternic
When buying ,what do you consider the most sucessful way of negotiating?.

For example,Once you have made a bid and the seller has counter offered, do you try and wrap the deal up as soon as possible by counter offering straight away?, or do you leave it until the last day when their offer is about to expire before countering their offer.?.

When selling, do you counter offer an initial bid with a high bid and hope to meet in the middle?, or do you counter with what you would actually take and refuse to move any from that?.

What do you do with ridiculous lowball offers?, ignore them?, counter with an equally ridiculous high offer?, Or treat it as just another opportunity to negotiate?.Has anyone ever actually succesfully negotiated a ridiculous lowball offer into a decent sale price?.

I would be very intrested to hear peoples views on this and any success stories.
Thanks

I counter offer and close the deal if the amount is what I am looking for. Otherwise, I ignore it an wait for the next interested party.

I counter offer the bid with 30-35 % more than the initial bid. It is all up to the buyer, if he craves for the name, he will bid even higher than my offer.

I don't get lowball offers, as I always mention the minimum price, so offers will have to go beyond it.
