Please review my new site: Sedlec Ossuary

It is a site I am passionate about, though there is much more work to do I think.

I know that I need to change the text in the Photo section, but besides that what is your opinion from a design POV, and from a SEO POV.

Cool idea and interesting information. I feel like the website is decorated too much. Use your graphic design skills to draw visitors' attention to important information. Design the content rather than decorate the site.

The black futuristic background doesn't match the old ancient feel of the rest of the website.
Rather than putting a table with a white background on top of the scroll. Use the scroll color as the tables bg color.

Either way I think you'll have a good amount of visitors.

I like the concept. The design however isn't great on the senses. The backgorund is at fault here.You could also add more content. I suggest Adding more info like a Map to the church, places to stay, other nearby destinations and descriptions for the photos.

I like how THIS PAGE summarizes everything you need to know about the ossuary.

Shig: The design the content suggestion is very good, and an aspect I did not think of. Regarding the black background, I asked other friends too, and they see it much larger than it is on my laptop screen. It was intended to be pretty small, but on a wide monitor a friend said it occupied half of the page. I think there is some work to be done on this aspect.

Holeinone: Thanks for the input. I wanted to build more than one page, and leave some information out, so that I can build some links using article directories. I will definitely add a map in the future. Regarding where to stay, I did not want to include this info, since the ads are all about this .. and as much as I like giving the best content, people will be more interested in finding out additional info by going through other sites It is always a dilemma I have anyway.

Holeinone: Do you see the background image too large too? Because it is really small, and it does not bother me in this format. Does anybody else have a problem with that background being too large?

I don't think it matters if it's large or small it just doesn't match the rest of the page. It is very futuristic looking while the content table is very old feeling. I would change the background image to a beige color with a little bit of texture. In photoshop just fill one layer with a beige color then on a new layer add a texture (maybe stucco) and turn the the saturation on the image all the way down (so bw) and then change the images opacity to like 10percent. Just an idea... but definitely loose the futuristic bg.
