Search Suggestion tool question

Hello ,

I have a simple question regarding Overture Keyword Suggestion Tool.

When i want to find a domain with type-in traffic using this tool and i search a domain name formed from 2 keywords (no TLD) , like SandalResort for example , which is the relevant number of search results :

sandal resort -> 20,060
sandalresort -> 0

How should i search ? with spacing between the keywords or without ?
Which one is relevant for finding a good traffic domain ?

The relevant results would be "Sandal Resort" and "SandalResort.com" -- the lattter is more prevelant for typein traffic (but more rare), while the former gives inidications of SERP/development potential and some typein volume

So i guess when searching for domains with overture i should include a space between keywords for relevant results.

What about "SandalResort" , which has 0 results ? Is that relevant to something ?

What is the difference between .COM and .NET when it comes to type-in traffic for the same domain ? Is there an approx ratio ? Cause i know people will mostly type in "something.com" , not "something.net".

my experience sais that .com/.net is approx 10/1 when it comes to type in traffic for generic terms.

When you are looking for type in domains, the only reliable(but not 100%) is the overture score, when your input contains the domain with extension. When you get a "30" score for SadalResort.com for example, this domain is very likely to be receiving traffic.

Another traffic indicator, regarding dropped domains that were previously used in websites, are the backlinks at google, yahoo and msn. The more backlinks it has, the more traffic it is going to be receiving. However, what many domainers forget when buying such names, is that this is not type-in traffic, but search engine traffic. This means that if you park this domain, the links will decrease over time and the traffic will eventually drop. Buy such names only if you intend to rebuild a website similar to the one the domain was serving before it expired.

I bought a domain that has 1290 back links,,, how do I find out what old domain was used for?
to recapture that traffic?

go to archive.org and do a search on the name, it will show you archived versions of the page from the past
